About OWNCA

Protecting nature through science, advocacy and community action since 2023

Our Story

The One World Nature Conservation Alliance (OWNCA) was founded in 2023—born out of a deep conviction that the responsibility to safeguard our planet rests not in the hands of a few, but within each and every one of us. It emerged from a growing realization: if we do not act boldly and collectively, the environmental degradation we witness today will become the irreversible tragedy of tomorrow.

From Humble Beginnings to Global Impact

Driven by the urgent need to respond to deforestation, pollution, biodiversity loss and the climate crisis, OWNCA was established as a grassroots movement with a global vision—to unite communities, governments and institutions in protecting the natural ecosystems that sustain all life on Earth.

What started as a small team working on local habitat restoration. Our first initiative protected 500 acres of coastal wetlands in our home state, establishing the model for our community-centered conservation approach.

At its core, OWNCA is more than just an organization; it is a mission. A mission to ignite action, restore damaged ecosystems, empower local stewardship and ensure that future generations inherit a thriving planet. We believe that meaningful change begins with ordinary people doing extraordinary things for nature and through education, advocacy, research and on-the-ground intervention, we are turning that belief into impact.

"It’s All Connected. Wetlands, forests, air, animals nature works as one system. Harm to one affects all. At OWNCA, we protect the environment because protecting nature is protecting life" - Joshua Mambwe, Director - Conservetion
